It looks like feditips is mostly upset with the content some users posted.
That’s a lot different than the software.
@worfamerryman Oh, looking back, FediTips was rather circumspect. It wasn't just a matter of mods /passively/ falling short of stated policy. Bit more context here.

Not a rabbit hole I cared to explore, but it's there if you're curious. Of course, as the Beehaw statement says, the software itself can be wielded for good until something better comes along. To the extent that it and Kbin are similar, many folks take the baggage into consideration as a tie-breaker.
Thanks for sharing, but it’s also something I don’t care about. I’m using the software in my own way for what I agree with. I don’t really care what the devs opinions are.
