Alternative title 'Twister 2: Geoengineering can save lives and is good actually'.

That's all I have to report. I had no idea this 'sequel' to the 1996 film Twister was some light geoengineering propaganda. Weirdly, climate change isn't mentioned once (correct me if I'm wrong). Which begs the question, why even introduce the idea of geoengineering as a solution to your tornado problem? Oh right, to provide some meaning to your characters otherwise meaningless lives. 'We have to help the townspeople', 'I want to make a difference' blah blah blah. I'm sure I'm butchering the actual dialog.

The only returning 'character' is Dorothy the scientific tornado instrument (a term pinched from a google search which pinched it from some wiki).

The film could also work as a stand-in for a very boring country and western mix-tape (or spotify playlist). I don't remember the original films soundtrack being so dull.

This movie blows.

Haha, I guess I didn't think about it that deeply. I can barely remember the original from 20+ years ago.

I went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

I was pretty annoyed from the get go when they killed the three kids but hey, it was on in the background while I was working so I was like, ugh whatever.

But then the next thing was like, wait they tried to geoengineer a tornado away and it grew into monster tornado and killed everyone. Is Twisters going all Jurassic Park? Awesome if so.

But nope because after a lot of nothing we get to a scene where the main character's mum casually drops that the the farmers up in woop woop were cloud seeding for rain... They're what now? Oh and hold your horses, what if you use their cloud seeding tech which totally works in this now clearly science fiction tornado film, with your fireworks and diaper seeding tech to take down some dinosaurs, I mean tornados! Yeah totally let's do it!

So yeah, you know if they had totally not had that stuff I wouldn't have said anything ever about this film.

Burn Hollywood Burn.
