There is quite a difference between "Extreme Poverty" and "Poverty" Why does the title say "... out of poverty" and the first sentence in the video says "extreme poverty". Is the title wrong on purpose?
Even the word poverty means something else between China and developed countries. Just as a simple example how it is defined in one single number, "Living on less than $ per day":
| Extreme poverty China|Poverty China|Poverty Germany|
|2.15|5.50|41.66|
It's a good start that they have more than $2.15 per day, but let's not pretend that this is good.
These numbers are meaningless without considering the cost of living. Meanwhile, a recent wealth report found that a typical Chinese adult is already richer than the typical European adult https://archive.is/uzLgx
