Sigh. If the issue is wages then we're going to have to subsidize, no one outside of the top half of the table will pay 100k a week and also give us 30M
Nah fuck it if he doesn't want to cut wages he can stay, we need another attacker anyway.
But it won't make a difference if Mikel doesn't trust/play him... he just becomes another asset amortized to 0. An academy asset, even.
His value would arguable decrease as well
I mean, he started the start of last season quite a bit. It's Nketiah we're talking about here — possibly the only player Arteta is biased towards more is Vieira lol
I think it's fair to say that Eddie only started until Jesus got his fitness back; Jesus was covering for Martinelli (injured?) for a while, and as soon as we had a better option at striker he sat out for the most part. I can't actually tell how Arteta actually feels about Vieira, and that's probably a good thing, since it seems to be a training issue.
For Vieira, it's a moot point since he's gone on loan, but the fact that Arteta trusts Nwaneri to come in over him is pretty damning (despite how much of a beast he looks to be). For Eddie, my opinion is purely financial - his value peaked before last season and with Havertz cemented at 9, it's only decreasing from now.
