Just to preface this, I am not an Ultra or LeftCom and I'm certainly not here to argue in bad faith. I have been told by people more well-read and educated than me on the topic that China is a DotP. While I'm sure they may be right I just can't recall the reasoning and I'm having some trouble reaching that conclusion on my own (beginner Marxist) so I thought maybe someone here could enlighten me through a more educated perspective.

Well from what I know. China is a capitalist some-what totalitarian state.

Then you don't know much. "No investigation, no right to speak". There are sources linked in this thread.

This post is also a year old, weird move to comment here.

Oh you may be right but can you defend the modern China in brief, I would really like to know :) And about the 1 year old post, I just wanted to comment so that in the future someone sees my stupidity and corrects me :D

No. If you wanted to learn you would have looked at the material already in this thread

Tentative apologies for being kind of brusque here, I recently found that federation gives us radically different views of this thread.

This post is very old, with very old comments. Since lemmy.world federated after those comments were made, you can't see them.

If you'll open this link in your browser (i.e. outside your normal Lemmy viewing) you should see the version of the thread I'm seeing:
