I don't understand, I must be behind on kanepixel's backrooms stuff. I know about the A24 movie, but what does a department store have to do with the backrooms?

I'm assuming it has something to do with air conditioned department store aisles inspiring those backroom spaces. And the aforementioned store in Wisconsin is probably the first of its kind?
