Do you have a vision of what you'd like to see?

Collectivization of the Means of Production, with Production planned Centrally to satisfy the needs of the whole from the productivity of the whole, ie Socialism and eventually Communism.

Is there paths that can feasibly be done today to help steer the boat in a more communistic way?

Reform cannot work. Revolution is inevitable with Capitalist decline, so building up dual power to help that Revolution be steered in a democratic and organized manner.

I'm just saying if we try the top down approach and kill off the dissidents again we'll just fail.

What, specifically, are you referring to, and why would it need to be repeated?
