I'm OOL what is this code for?
So π is a representation of the Palestinian flag because it's banned in Israel so people have to use creative ways to represent it.
π»is a representation of the red triangle used in the videos where Israeli tanks get blown up by a guy in flip flops running up and duct taping a cartoon bomb to them and running away unharmed
and the triangle has been legally banned in Germany as if it were on the same level as the swastika
Sir, a second has hit the Reichstag!
I didn't know this
it's true
Pretty messed up to ban a symbol your government used to identify one of its enemies (a particular political current) during an extermination project that targeted them, when it's heavily being used by the ideological descendants of those same political dissidents.
Thanks! I thought the triangle was like the triangle Nazi Germany used to identify communist prisoners.
Solid guess, tbh
I thought the triangle was for identifying queer people?
they used different color triangles for different things, red triangle for political prisoners including comunists
Why the hell would anyone whoβs pro-Palestine have an issue with blowing up some Israeli tanks? Itβs not targeting civilians. Do they really think Netanyahu can be Marketplace of Ideasβd into giving Palestinians sovereignty or equal status?
I'm going to guess the divide between supporting non-violent resistance and violent resistance
I was thinking about this lately: that the Palestine issue would at some point devolve into identity politics for yt people while POC are left once again picking up where the yt moderates have dropped everything.
Some of yt people are for "free Palestine" but only POC (and even then it's a toss up if they're not liberals) are to Israel.
This was bound to happen, I just didn't think it would happen so soon.
