During the pandemic I stripped this to a bare shell, Welded it and replaced some panels, rebuilt the engine and painted it. Here is the result. I also have a yellow T2 that I did after...

Neither are complete yet but I keep working on them.

wow nice, thanks! how difficult was it to anodize the metal bits? what did you use to make it look gold/bronze? really cool idea.

are you going to build out the inside to do road trips/van dwelling?

You get a kit not unlike one in the link there, I found it easy enough to do but hard to get good consistent results. It takes practice. The colour is from what is known as a passivate.

I did build an interior with kitchen etc but it was kinda too nice for this one so it will go in the T2, This van was supposed to be about throwing the bikes in the back and just taking a weekend somewhere so now it has a full width R&R bed (With 2 12" speakers underneath) and no fixed kitchen. The T2 with its lift up roof will be a proper camper.

My Mrs always chooses the colours, And we did the kitchen bright and fun (That's how I like my cars) so love it or hate it here is the late progress version before I removed it. I'm not that good at joinery yet.

I always likened it to the Simpsons kitchen :) Might look good in the Yellow camper :)
