Yeah, but Kaypakkaya is the overrated one that only Westerners know.
(But what happened to him was horrible, no denying.)
But the communist movement in Turkey is powerful, historically, compared to other communist movements that didn't achieve full power. I'd say that places that have big communist movements but aren't AES is Nepal, India, and that kingdom in Africa that I forgot the name of...
Who else would you recommend in Turkey?
Look into the TKP's history.
Especially in the lead-up to the 1980 coup.

If you ever feel depressed in the Western core...remember there were communists in the Ottoman empire that likely lived through the collapse.
