How expensive are these efforts for the taxpayers?
Shouldn't they just ask for Elon's engineering prowess, instead?
Their stupid experiments fail and society has to pay for it, yet again?

The gov has shitload of money to pay for their pet projects and saving fellow rich. Helping the population meet their necessities? Nah...
