@Drusenija @Berin Your glam is really cute!! I really dread cleaning out my inventory ๐ซ I plan to play picto so, i should prepare some gear as well..
Thank you โค๏ธ The main bit of advice I can give is that anything you can replace easily, just vendor it. List it on the market board if you think you can sell it, but otherwise just get rid of it. If it turns out you were wrong and you need it, you've already established you can easily replace it.
I was carrying so many old crafting mats for stuff that I thought I might need, and sure, there have been occasions where I've been able to take advantage of that, but the actual amount of time saved would easily be under an hour over two years. Not a significant enough saving to warrant the extra time spent on inventory management over the same period.
@Drusenija Market Board as an extended inventory is what I highly recommend to others as well, as long as one is responsible with their Gil :)
A lot of the materials are super easy to obtain, especially in smaller quantities - a 40 min venture for a decent stack if you have a matching retainer leveled.
Also true! I was more thinking the actual gathering process itself but retainer ventures are just as effective, especially if it's for something that is a timed node. You might not get the instantaneous gratification of crafting something right there and then, but it's never far away for the vast majority of materials.
Then you just hold the ones that are relevant for current gear or stuff you actively work on (for example, my FC chest is completely dedicated to all the stuff needed to craft subs).
This is the mentality I've taken as well. It is rare that prices of goods fluctuate so significantly that I am taking a huge loss by rebuying. I only stock up on a few things like monster materials that are a pain to farm on demand and (for that reason) tend to be pricier on the market boards, but Botany and Mining, I either buy back from the markets or put on a good show on my other monitor and farm in bulk when I need a lot.
