Slightly off-topic, but why was O'Neill often not knocked out when taking a blast? Everyone else including Teal'C was out cold after a single hit.
Because he had +3 plot armour.
He was related to chuck norris, I believe.
It changes based on who needs to be completely unconscious vs who needs to be able to move in short order for plot purposes.
I'm sure they could also hand-wave an explanation about how much energy you have to do things, so fresh from sleep and a good breakfast with coffee might make you feel like you liked a power line but you'll be up in a minute, but if it's 3am and you haven't eaten since lunch, your ass is out.
I go with that as headcannon.
