Can't find a lemmy community from another server? (lemmy.ml)

I'm on lemmy.ml, and I want to subscribe to https://lemmy.world/c/songaweek. There it says to put [email protected] into search on my instance to subscribe, but it doesn't turn up anything. Anyone know why this might be, and/or how to work around it?

Sometimes on my instance I have to search for it twice and it shows up about 5 seconds after I search the second time.

Yeah, with a community not subscribed to from my home instance, I first get an error message, then I refresh and up pops the community.
