Why didn't we do his from the beginning instead of the blackout then? Seems way easier than keeping all of these subs private indefinitely.

Probably because people were trying to negotiate in good faith, and not destroy the site. I guess they believed they could deal with the management.

This is it. Companies make bad decisions all the time, but they can sometimes be shown why their decision is a bad one, and reverse course. All the interviews with Spez the last two weeks show that he may actually be a sociopath. He doesn't see the people who provide all the value to Reddit as actual people, and won't listen to their concerns at all.

its part of why i didnt feel having an end date was a bad idea. we werent trying to destroy the site, but to help make reddit better. instead we got shown plenty of reasons why leaving is the best policy.

Really cemented my decision indeed. It helps that I'm finding my ground more and more around here (still struggling with a few things but it'll get there, right now I'm still opening RiF a lot to laugh at the shit show and support the protests/plug Lemmy).

seems rich and successful people are all sociopathes. seems cashing out on people's thoughts and feelings is a good business :/
