Because the sample size for "extreme left" is like 5000 posts/month and they probably tagged every Ukraine mega thread as violent. There's also the adventurism posts and

Type posting that goes on which is a decent percentage of posts.
They didn't analyze the content of violent posts, just the language. All violence on hexbear is violence proposed as defense against state or reactionary violence where the alt right sites are calling for genocide.
My hope is that there is substantially more of "the extreme left" in the global south who aren't posting in English (or posting at all but just chatting to each other).
There's more of the "extreme left" on Reddit too, it just seems like this dude has a bone to pick with us specifically. He didn't include Lemmy, Mastodon, or Twitter either. Seems like he didn't pick any big socialist/left wing subreddits either. Anti work, Sino, Genzedong, etc.
