You answered your own question: "my friends are fine with me playing like that."
Your friends are the only people who matter in this equation. Why do you give a shit about the opinions of a bunch of strangers?
Can you roll like this in a tournament? Absolutely not, but you probably knew that already. Can you roll like this in a friendly store game? Up to your opponent. Again, that's the only person in the equation who matters. There's no Association of Proper Warhammer Play who are going to kick down your door and tell you that you're playing with plastic army men wrong.
