Women are often really hard on ourselves and it's really understandable. Society expects a lot of us, and women are seen badly for seeing themselves well.

Let's think positive! What's your favourite thing about you?

Feeling bored with your wardrobe but don't want to spend money on new clothes? The Wrong Shoe Theory suggests pairing the most unexpected pair of shoes you have with your outfit to change the whole vibe. Examples include wearing flip-flops with tailored pants, combat boots with a summer dress, or bright colored loafers with a muted suit.

Wrong Jacket Theory works the same way, pairing things you wouldn't normally think go together, like a blazer with t-shirt and shorts, or a jean jacket with a nice dress.

Have you guys tried either of these? What combos do you like?

Many anti lgbt people are careful with what they say, and don't say or do anything overtly anti. What are some subtle signs?

Remember no politics!

It's something I've seen thrown at women a fair bit. Feminazi, stripping men's rights, feminism has gone too far blah blah. Has anyone ever accused you of it? And any women said this to you?

I totally get the joke, and Pedro can only be a good thing (huge fan, pray daily that he adopts me). But I do understand why some men would find it insulting. What's your thoughts?

Emotional harm can be hard to name and easy to dismiss. We know when we've been physically hit, but emotional is really different. All sorts of things can cause emotional harm... what can we do to protect ourselves from it?

It's literally the most natural thing in the world to equate reproductive effectiveness to worth. All life is "worth" their reproductive effectiveness. So not having sex is very relevant to our entire existence as a species.

As such, our mental faculties put a heavy punishment in the form of mental pain, i.e. "self-worth attached to getting laid", on this whole thing.

This has very little to do with societal expectations. It's simple biology. Not getting laid is supposed to be one of the worst things for an organism.

You're rationally right with what you say, but it's simply not very relevant. Rationality does not help with our most deeply rooted biological desires. The only thing that helps is getting them fulfilled, i.e. having sex."

From the Blackpill incel thread

I can't tell I'm just too ace to comprehend this. Is this a thing? Do women feel this? I argued it's more of a "societal expectation" thing and was countered with.. this.

Not saying this user is wrong, I just am having a difficult time understanding this.

"Our most deeply rooted biological desires" has me squinting real hard. Do women feel this way, too? Idk I'm absolutely confused af

EDIT: Please do NOT brigade the blackpill thread. No touch. Seriously.

Realization achieved: it's not an incel discussion thread: it's now an incel defense thread. What a fuckin' waste ffs..

The stock image/thumbnail shows an icing piping bag, but I just dumped the rest of my body lotion into a ziplock bag, cut a tiny hole in the corner and squeezed it into the other half-filled lotion bottle.

I couldn't find a funnel, which in hindsight would have taken muck longer to decant and I wanted to share.

My work is up and down like a yoyo at the moment, to help avoid doom scrolling during quiet patches I've decided to start reading (nobody at work is going to pay attention to plain text on my screen, we're all in the same boat).

I've got a copy of Naomi Altman's The Power to start off with ... any other recommendations?

(Obviously can't be anything smutty or very funny because I need to be low-key, and lighter stuff would be easier to pick up and put down when I have actual work to do)

Thanks in advance :-)

We often have a terrible relationship with our weight. We're too fat, too thin, our weights on the wrong part of our body etc. How much does your weight bother you?

Please don't post your weight, numbers can be triggering for people with a history of disordered eating
