What does everyone think about this watch? I quite like the look of it. And seems like a nice and cheap piece to add to the collection.

This has been my work watch for several years now. Still love it.

In my last post about my Sinn 836 I said I was going to get a U1, so I did.

This is the U1-T. T for tegimented. Just like my 836-T, the entirety of the case bezel and bracelet, already made of German submarine steel, are treated with some sort of carbon diffusion process, raising their Vickers hardness to around 1400VH, which is just about on par with ceramic. I believe 316L stainless sits around 250 or so? So yeah. Very very scratch resistant.

I’m over the moon with it.

Mainly because it helps me know how close we are to lunch time.

Bought another red watch after Seiko presage (spb227j1) And bamboozled again from pictures and videos since this is dark/burgundy red and not bright red. Oh well still this is nice and suprisingly thin chrono. So I will happily wear it.

I've been owning this watch for about a year or a year and a half, still looking brand new! The only thing I'd want is a bidirectional bezel instead of unidirectional, but that's just a nitpick.

It survived seawater, several sauna visits and accidental door knob hits. Trying to be as gentle with it as I can, but sometimes I just keep forgetting to take it off, and looks like it can handle people like me.

Big question to everyone: how do you clean your watch? I use warm water + soap but that doesn't feel too effective, especially in-between the strap joints.

Bezel swapped with triple date speedy, pretty much perfect to me now.

Were having our first kid in December and would love to buy a watch for him and then give it to him at 18. Budget would be 2-3$k. It could also be multiple watches. I have no preferences.

He would also be getting any watch I buy once I’m gone but if we have more than 1 kid they would split it. And hopefully I’m around a bit longer.

This has been my grail watch for a while now and I had a reason to celebrate recently so picked it up. I am absolutely in love with it so far.

I cant take good photos, and I know its not the most amazing watch in the world (although it is to me) but I had to tell someone. I am in love with it.

I noticed that a few dealers that I frequently use simply disappeared. I contacted directly one of them and apparently, there's stricter guideline for authorized dealer. Is anyone aware of it or if you have similar experience with authorized dealer?

Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this watch? I had seen a video that said it was likely that Center screw being loose so it wouldn't wind, but even after tightening that it won't start ticking. Bought some simple tools and I'm willing to mess with it (I believe it was a cheap watch) I just have no clue what to do.

I got this watch from a flea market in Beijing over the summer. It’s a Russian/Soviet wind-up mechanical model likely from the 90s, as the watch face says “50 victory years” and the outer year/day of week dial goes from 1992-2012. The back cover has “950” in small etched numbers while the inside parts are etched with “2628” as well as “SU.” However, I have not been able to find any images or information for this model of watch on the internet. Could anyone help me identify what exactly it is?

Built this Yacht master inspired Seiko for the impending summer. Features Seiko NH34 GMT movement, Yacht master style case and bezel and a Seiko dial with Rolex style hands, currently on a Fullmosa strap. Overall build cost <$100 USD.

The Alba Y823-5000 is a neat little digital watch I picked up at a flea market in Osaka Japan for about $10. Beside the usually quartz watch offerings, this one had a button that will read the current time to you in Japanese with a button push.

I celebrated one year at my new job by buying a watch from my wish list. This Nodus watch has great build quality, and I really like the design sense. I've always liked dials with bold arabic numerals, and I appreciate how they preserved symmetry by placing the day and date at 6 o clock. Build quality is excellent, with finely brushed surfaces, a fluid bracelet, smooth bezel action. The only thing I'd change is maybe having a count-up bezel instead of count-down, but that's not a big deal.

So I bought the Timex Easy Reader after some research and got it for really cheap, but I have never worn any watch so I don't know if it's too big?

I bought this solar-powered multiband Casio Lineage for $30 USD on Yahoo Auctions, cheap due to scratch on the mineral crystal and a stuck pusher.

Disassembly upon receipt revealed the waterproof seal had been compromised leading to a bit of rust on the inside. I tore down the case and removed the scratched glass. Soaked the case in WD-40 and thoroughly cleaned the pushers. Replaced the glass with a $15 USD sapphire crystal and reassembled with a tropic strap. Now works perfectly.

This is now a regular on the rotation. Such a beautiful watch for the price, offering world time, stopwatch and alarms. It contrasts well with my automatic divers and retro digitals. While I'd like to get another Lineage, perhaps in white, I think an Oceanus would make more sense, or better yet a Seiko Astron/Citizen Atessa.
