I'm currently outside the US, and I have an uncle in the US who is elderly, broke, not very tech savvy, and he doesn't have cable, Internet or a cell phone.

There's a TV show I know he really wants to watch but he can't, so I was thinking about putting it on a USB and sending it to him. I was also going to maybe put some new movies and TV shows on there, and maybe some 8 and 16 bit rom sets.

Does anyone know if US customs usually checks USB drives coming into the country? What about external hard/SSD drives?

People were asking for me to go into more detail about the containers and addons I am using for Plex so I made a video and posted the links to the programs and a quick overview of everything I use. Included is a Kometa config file I uploaded to GitHub with notes/comments everywhere to get you started with customizing your own posters. Some pictures are included and this config be changed/edited however you like to achieve your own look. I plan on going into greater depth with installation tutorials, setups, and settings for each of the 45 Docker Containers I have running alongside Plex. I also go over all the things I've learned over the 10+ years that Ive been tinkering that I wish I knew when I first starting out. (trash-guides.info, VPNs and Socks5, docker compose settings, mounting secondary devices, linux commands, webhosting, etc) Just uploaded the tutorial on Sonarr, Radarr and Prowlarr now. So I've spent some time lurking around here, learning about streaming sites and such, but is there anything that would give me the look/feel of cable TV?

It's an odd request, since I want to cut the cord from all of these services, but I'd love to have live TV as background noise sometimes, without having to look through and pick shows, and be able to flip channels and such. Does something like that exist?

If you're cancelling like me after the recent news and have years of projects that occasionally used fonts from Adobe, you should stash copies of those font files locally. Otherwise it could be a nightmare trying to find the more obscure ones if you ever need to revisit an old project in the future.

1. Open Adobe Fonts in the CC desktop app
2. Go to the "Added fonts" tab
3. Download and install any font families that have a download option next to them. Also grab any new ones you might want 🏴‍☠️
4. Switch to the "Installed fonts" tab and make sure the number of fonts matches the "Added fonts" tab so you know you got everything.
5. Run an extractor script from github.
6. Back the files up somewhere safe. I keep an archive of all the fonts I've ever used with all of my other assets.

So I use two websites to find my torrents, ThePirateBay and 1337x, but while searching for Planet Earth III I ran into problems. ThePirateBay only has 1080p uploads somehow, which is unacceptable specifically for nature documentaries. And 1337x did have it in 4k (2160p) but here the search is barely working; so I could really find it here either.

What websites can you guys recommend?

Hey there. I thought, my experience might be useful for somebody.

I have a smart TV, this doesn't allow any sideloading but has a YouTube app installed on it. For a long time I couldn't find a proper way to get rid of the ads. Sure, you can buy a premium but that's not interesting and quite pricey.

The solution turned out to be less technical than I thought. I remembered that when I lived in a third world country I never saw an ad. So I spun on a docker container with a VPN client going through one of those countries and an HTTP proxy, then I set the said proxy to be used by the TV and voila! Aparently, if nobody targets a country, there is no ads in it 😁

On my VPN provider (Mullvad) there is currently only one country that is suitable for this solution, namely Albania. There used to be also Moldova but there is no more, and also Moldova now has ads too.

So yesterday I was bored and decided to test how much lucky patcher can do. So I patched the chess app to bypass purchases and subscribed to the premium. To my surprise, it worked. I used the chess app as I don't really use it and I didn't care if my account got banned (it didn't). But that experience sparked a question. How far can I use lucky patcher? Could I get premium for other social media like Reddit, Snapchat, or even YouTube? What if I patch the playstore itself? I don't want to try it as I don't want to get banned on any social media, and I don't want to brick my phone (patching play store). Has anyone tried this? Any results?
