The Horsenecks with Wave the Ocean followed by a great version of the fiddle tune Flowers of Edinburgh starting at 3:45. The tune is related to, but different from the scottish one.

A lopey John Salyer tune I've been learning the last few days.

That'd be Judy Hyman and Jeff Klaus of the Horseflies (fiddle & guitar), John Herrman (banjo) of Chicken Train, and a young Gus Tritsch on fiddle. Lately Gus has been touring with Jake Blount.

Love Dan Gellert's syncopated feel on this one.

This is a crooked Metis tune, from the same tradition as the more well known Grey Owl. David Bragger & Susan Platz learned it from Jamie and they have a pretty good version too.

Snowtown, a crooked tune from Sami Braman.

AJ Srubas is the fiddler on this. Always solid! He won clifftop in 2023.

They jam this one out to almost 11 minutes. Trancey but ripping old time!

Foghorn with Rafe Stefanini on banjo.

Rayna Gellert, John Herrmann, Tom Sauber, Carl Jones, and Ira Bernstein tearing it up with the flatfooting.

My favorite version of wolves a howling. There's a lot going on in that banjo part!

Nice version of Marcus Martin's Happy Hollow. Just a great tune!

Jamming version of Buffalo Gals, from banjoist Matokie Slaughter. It uses a mode of the melodic minor scale, pretty unusual for old time.

Joe Thompson (fiddle) is the source on this tune. That's Bob Carlin on banjo.

Some other notable versions:

Reeltime Travelers

Carolina Chocolate Drops

This tune is from black fiddler Will Adams. One of those that repeats so long its kind of a surprise when you finally change parts. First rate banjo and fiddle on this version.

Rushad Eggleston with the elf hat and cello melody/backup on this one. The excellent Tatiana Hargreaves on fiddle. You wish for Chinquapin Hunting!??!
