The store has lost thousands of dollars' worth of items and spent about $3,000 on cleaning services so far.

What's next?

The store cannot reopen until two further deep cleans have been completed and there are fears the financial impact will be too much to overcome.

If a data scientist with close knowledge of the Privacy Act and time on her hands can't exercise her rights, what hope to do the rest of us have? Australians have a legal right to know what personal data is held on them by charities. But in practice, even for experts, it's not easy to access that information.

"When I first saw it, I was outraged and disgusted," Krienke said.

"I could not believe that he was dressing up as an outfit of a young girl who had made allegations of sexual [misconduct] against very powerful people in society — and that was what the captain, who leads the team, was wearing."

She said after an initial meeting with the president and secretary — a few days after she first raised the issue — she did not hear back for a month and a half.

She initiated another meeting in mid-October when she informed the club of the blackface photo and was told nothing had happened regarding the first photo.

It was not until this month that she was informed they would take action and only after the media had contacted them.

US President Donald Trump has asked Australia and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to join his 'Board of Peace' that would aim to progress the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Dozens of countries and leaders have been invited, according to a list first reported by Bloomberg.

Adelaide Writers' Week has been cancelled and Louise Adler, who on Tuesday morning resigned as director, has described its collapse as a landmark moment and taken aim at those who engage in acts of censorship.

The event was called off after days of furore regarding the decision to cancel a scheduled appearance by Palestinian-Australian author Randa Abdel-Fattah.

The Adelaide Festival board issued an apology to Abdel-Fattah, which the author posted to Instagram to say she rejected.

"It is clear that the board's regret extends to how the message of my cancellation was conveyed, not the decision itself," she said.
