It’s a week before the election. Quit browbeating me and go talk to some people who have a chance of listening to you. Or are you actually just a cynical sophist who likes winning arguments more than you do “saving democracy”?

The bleeding from my throat stopped early in the morning, around 4:00 or so. I still went to my family doctor, who told me to take Mucosolvan (tastes terrible, but whatever). Doc told me as long as there are no other side effects it should heal by itself. I’m feeling pretty okay again—no pain or anything, just a slight discomfort in my throat.

If anything changes, I’ll go see a doctor again, but as it stands, I consider myself fine. No other side effects etc.

VELCOME MORTALS TO HEXBEARS HYELLOVEEN SCARETACULAR- cough

Gather around the campfire and listen to my story, and then share your own in the comments below. The only condition is that it better be pants poopingly spooky or else the poop ghost will getcha! He wants your poooooooOooop

Our story begins in a graveyard. It was getting dark and Morty the groundskeeper was about to leave after doing a routine inspection of the cemetery grounds. As he walked to the gate and reached out to push it open, he heard a faint whisper, as if someone was standing behind him, but he couldn't quite make out the words being said.

His turned to the direction where the sound had come from, but saw nothing. "Is someone there?" He asked loudly. No reply. He began to get slightly annoyed. If some teens were hoping to trash the place after dark, he didn't want to deal with it. He shrugged and decided it was a problem for security.

He began to push the gate again and as he did, he heard another sound, right behind him. This time, it sounded like running footsteps. He whipped around quickly.

"What the hell?!"

Nobody was there, but there was a shoe, sticking out of the mud, just a few feet behind him. He stared, it was starting to get pretty dark now, but it was definitely a shoe. He carefully walked over and picked it up. Yeah, a large mens dress shoe. So it wasn't teens. A homeless man, maybe? No, a homeless man wouldn't mess with him like this, right? And it was too nice a shoe. Maybe the shoe had been left by an earlier visiter during the day, he thought.

"But then how do you explain the sound of running feet?" A voice said, clear as day behind him. He spun around. Again, no one was there.

"Ok you can stop messing with me now, cut it out. It's closing time." Morty said, admittedly not as assertive as he wanted to sound.

But whoever the voice belonged to didn't seem to hear. It suddenly spoke again, sounding almost like a host enquiring to an audience,

"And what of the whispering he heard before?" It asked.

"Where the... Heck is that coming from?" Morty grumbled as he looked all around, his eyes fell upon some of the graves nearby, and his blood ran cold

"And how then do you explain the man emerging from the grave?" The voice said.

Morty screamed. Climbing out of the grave dirt, halfway out of the ground to his waist was TV sensation Johnathan Frakes.

"We got you." he said with a cheeky smile.

It's like these libs believe that Kamala is entitled to our vote.

If I didn't vote for PSL, then I simply would not vote! It's not "PSL or Kamala;" it's "PSL or sit on my ass at home."

I know libs don't understand nuance, but it still is so frustrating that they put this framing on me where they assume that I have any actual interest in a Kamala president over a Trump presidency.

Not only that, but this person called Claudia de la Cruz a "clowny leftist with no choice of winning" (which isn't the point of a third party vote; let's be real), but I just told the lib, "You call her clowny, but you are literally guilt tripping and insulting me just because I won't vote for someone who is actively greenlighting a genocide on Palestinians." and then I blocked.

Whether Trump or Kamala wins, I'll enjoy social media outrage from either side, but it seems like what I'll see from liberals in the case of a Trump election will be more entertaining. I truly think libs are beyond being redeemed, and that even goes for the more "progressive" types who appropriate the label of "democratic socialist" like Bernie and AOC. I don't adhere to lesser-evilism, so I'm not gonna pretend that this one-party state with two parties has one side over the other functioning in a way that could especially benefit me.

It's exceedingly effective.

I was talking politics with someone earlier today, on the topic of the new BRICS payment system, and the conversation went something like this:

Me: Countries should be able to trade in their own currencies, and no one country (USA or otherwise) should be able to declare unilateral sanctions and cause sabotage just because they want to.

Lib: Shouldn't USA be able to sanction Russia for its invasion of Ukraine?

Me: I don't think any country should be able to declare unilateral sanctions. On the other hand, if the global community wants to decide on sanctions together, that's another story. However, maybe the USA themselves should be sanctioned for their involvement in the 2014/2015 coup in Ukraine that started this whole mess.

Lib: Were those democratic protesters not legitimate?

Me: It was a far right, violet coup that overthrew a democratically elected government [Provides sourced examples of far-right violence during the coup, evidence it was a coup, and how it was clearly in the interests of Western governments]

Lib: [Provides Wikipedia links of the "Democratic mass movements in Ukraine"]

Me: Yes that is a textbook example of a CIA backed colour revolution.

Lib: That is Russian disinformation.

Why exactly does "disinformation" always have to come from "the other, evil foreign governments"? Why the fuck does Russia care what I think? Wouldn't it make a lot more fucking sense that our own government is trying to manipulate our understanding of the world?

I don't think I have ever once heard a lib use the term "American disinformation" or "misinformation from our own government" - it's always the evil Russians or Chinese. Of course reactionaries and chuds always cry foul at what the government says but it's only about dumb bullshit like vaccines and bike lanes.

The second any information runs contrary to the Libs heavily propagandised worldview it can immediately be dismissed as "foreign propaganda" - no matter how thoroughly sourced or researched or documented. It's just an immediate off switch for both the conversation and their brain. And, conveniently, they have handy NATOpedia articles to counter with.

Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Don't forget to like and subscribe.

Is there any flavor of libertarianism that even in theory makes sense? I lump libertarians together which I guess is unfair but I only talk to them online and they always seem to so similar however they define themselves with nuance. I find them to be ridiculous, obnoxious, and selfish.

For example - at Bluesky I just had an argument with a self-described socio-libertarian who was against "disruptive" protests against climate change. The character limit at Bluesky makes an actual discussion pointless in a situation like this. But they were an asshole anyway so that limit did me a favor. And I didn't need to her some kind of fantastical thinking about the magic of the free market solving climate change.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say about libertarian socialism...

Libertarian socialism

Libertarian socialism is an anti-authoritarian and anti-capitalist political current that emphasises self-governance and workers' self-management. It is contrasted from other forms of socialism by its rejection of state ownership and from other forms of libertarianism by its rejection of private property. Broadly defined, it includes schools of both anarchism and Marxism, as well as other tendencies that oppose the state and capitalism.
