they also have a blog where they blog about how unfair are the anti-ai terrible people and. among other things, why the luddites were the terrible, no good, absolutely not worthy of interest reactionary bunch who got what they deserved.

    it sure wasn't, considering that rms' highly problematic antics are well known for literal decades, and ddv only amplified them.

    if not for the fact the bylaws of fsf basically give stallman control over the foundation no matter who's voted into the board, he'd be ousted many times.

    there's a few names i'd probably add; one is peter simon, known as probono, the appimage maintainer, a professional wayland hater (he's maintaining a ginormous gist that lists the failures of wayland, most of which is not true, not true anymore or at least grossly exaggerated).

    gyges went off the deep end quite some time ago, up to and including support for a crypto/ai grifter's “dystopiabreaker” claims that not falling with the autoconfabulator crowd is basically being anti-vaccine.

    there's nothing centrist about him, along the lovely racist theophite, he's one of the more aggressive confabulation machinery grift promoters.

    tl;dr: nsf requested that python software foundation affirms that they “do not, and will not during the term of this financial assistance award, operate any programs that advance or promote DEI, or discriminatory equity ideology in violation of Federal anti-discrimination laws”.

    the psf has withdrawn the proposal instead.

     

    from the “i'll drm your arse” and “industrial sabotage r us” department, a true scandal: a polish train manufacturer used firmware to lock out trains at 3rd party service depots in order to disrupt the operations of the trains for the railways who did not choose to service the trains at the manufacturer's; at the same time they blamed the 3rd parties for their inability to properly service the trains.
