DNS request will go to the DNS server but from what I can tell the packet wont go anywhere else. At least on my own network, traceroute gives only one entry and its the final destination. I assume this is because the router knows its own public IP and as such knows the packet doesnt need to be sent anywhere else.

Honestly, I don't really think there were sacrifices. They seem like just an upgrade to me.

    • split gamepad button layout allows playing any game that can be played with a gamepad
    • thumbsticks now magnetic, so drift should be a thing of the past (or at least, they will last far longer, index controllers had a big drift issue)
    • still has individual finger tracking
    • optional straps allow you to fully let go of the controller if you want the knuckles style

No more trackpads I guess, but I didnt like those much either, most games just treat them as a single button or maybe two and we got two more buttons on each controller in their place.

Theyre describing it as a small linux PC, which makes me hopeful. And given that its running SteamOS, I imagine it will be a very similar experience to the steam deck, with a streamlined main interface all in steam but the option to dive in deeper and customize the OS more.

I think this is perfectly fine. I dont think we should really be expecting them to provide support for the entirety of the linux platform when there is so much variation between installs. If its working on steam deck, it'll work on linux generally.

Democratic primaries do have issues, yeah, particularly in the presidential race. But I wouldn't say theyre meaningless in local elections. Still, definitely a lot of issues, but voting in primaries still does far more than refusing to vote in the main election ever would.

First off, the donbas is not majority russian. While it has the largest group of Russians in the country it is still majority Ukrainian.

Second, the ICJ and international association of genocide scholars investigated Russia's claim of massacre and genocide and found them to be entirely baseless and fabricated to justify invasion.

Third, if this was about liberating the donbas, then Russia wouldn't have gone all the way to Kyiv at the beginning of the invasion. Even still Russia occupies far more than the donbas.

I swear the way some of yall rush to defend Russia. You guys realize it's not socialist anymore, right? That the country is ruled and controlled by capitalists? That capital interests like the oil in ukraine are what drive them?
