I listen to Aussie music. But I don't stream because it's garbage now, and radio is worse.
A better campaign would be fixing how we can access the media. Streaming companies and ads are ruining everything.

We need a new Molly Meldrum and Countdown
“This year it’s about being loud and proud about the music we listen to and love.”...
... “I’m calling on everyone to join me in showing their love for Australian music in whatever way they like – tell a friend, get a tattoo, annoy people on the bus by blasting your favourite local track.”
This sounds like a terrible concept to build up Australian music listenership. Not only is it an advertising campaign whose minor positive effects will deteriorate quickly after the advert campaign ends, it also tries to leverage an outgoing boisterousness that isn't really the common way Australians appreciate the things they like. I think we can be more quiet and reserved about the things we genuinely like.
Yeah this seems desperate and delusional. This isn't how you change people's behaviour.

This is the only part i really disagree with, telling a friend and getting a tattoo, no issues
Have they tried making music that’s any good? There’s a constant stream of wannabe rappers sounding like absolute fuckwits and not a single memorable tune from the lot.
Where are you seeing this constant stream of wannabe rappers? Spotify has these just off a quick look

Every time Triple J are yapping about some upcoming local talent it’s some shit rap. Granted I don’t know if there’s other stuff because that’s when I turn the radio off.
I’m not listening to garbage clout chasing by clueless little suburban rats
ah yeah I haven't listened to radio for about 20 years now, i went radio > downloading music videos off of IRC and di.fm radio streams, to youtube and mp3 rips to spotify and have largely been there since 2012, i also rip stuff from youtube and upload it in telegram, so my 'saved messages' is full of my notes and mp3s, it also has a Hardstyle live set rips channel:

and Trance: https://t.me/HardDanceEvents
so yeah, no use listening to the radio for music, soon as I get in the car bluetooth syncs up with the speakers and away I go
I still try to find good Aussie metal, there's a massive playlist here with over 1000 aussie metal songs:

Which I think is where I found Ocean Grove
