Seems like shows are taking longer and longer to produce. Used to be a yearly thing but these days it’s closer to two years.

I’m sure the long writers strike and actors strike was no help. Without those, late 2024 may have been possible. We’re only getting House of the Dragon on schedule because it’s produced in Europe where actors were not on strike.

But there is a 4 year gap in the game, so some aging of the characters should fit right in.

Joel doesn't need to age much

I don't watch shows as they air anymore, and just wait until they are all out years later.

I have started sticking to standalone seasons like Fargo, and gotten into some kdramas because of the annoyance of drawn out seasons.

Ah watching Fargo myself for the first time!

Agreed. Studios proved that they can't be trusted with franchises I love. They will kill a series the second it's not insanely profitable. So I'll wait now until it's finished, or obvious it's going to finish

I rewatch Fargo every time a new season comes out, so good.

Can't complain. There are plenty of great shows to catch up on in the meantime and the revolving door writing/production strategy of the 2010s put out a lot of shit.

I have branched out into non US game type tv. Been really enjoying Taskmaster and QI from the BBC. Best part is the shows are not tip toeing around trying to be PC or overly fake inclusive. Like it feels more real.

When's the Remaster of Season 1 coming

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The news comes after showrunner Craig Mazin revealed production will start on February 12th, 2024, which is later than originally planned because of the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Despite the delay, work on the second season is still underway with an outline already prepared and the first episode’s script submitted before the strike.

It will likely be an adaptation of The Last of Us Part II video game, which is getting a remastered version for PlayStation 5 on January 19th, 2024.

Bella Ramsey (Ellie) and Pedro Pascal (Joel) will return, while the role of Abby Anderson has reportedly already been cast — though we’ve yet to find out who will play the part.

In addition to The Last of Us, the short teaser from Max also showed footage from Euphoria, The White Lotus, And Just Like That, and the prequel series to Stephen King’s It, Welcome to Derry, all of which will arrive in 2025.

The teaser also showed scenes from the second season of Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon, whose trailer debuted earlier this month ahead of its release next summer.
