All that fuss for a 8.99 item?

Likely due to an overabundance of shoplifting.

You know the economy is doing well when there's overabundance of shoplifting of basic necessities of life.

It just means people's moral character is going downhill that they choose to commit crimes.

This has nothing to do with morals, people just can't afford the basic things they need because US is a shithole country where the oligarchs brutally exploit the rest of the population.

There's tons of stuff given away for free in the U.S. There's sites like Craigslist, Freecycle, and Buy Nothing on Facebook. You can ask for food, you'll get food. You can ask for toothpaste and you'll get toothpaste.

If you think that people should beg for toothpaste on craigslist what else is there to say about you.

I've seen people ask for food, clothing, and household items on both Freecycle and Facebook Buy Nothing. I don't monitor Craigslist or Nextdoor but it still shows that people ask for (and get) things they need for free online.

There's no need to steal other than a lack of morals.

Morality is a luxury that comes after oral hygiene

Morality is free. But exercising good morality is a choice.

It will all be over soon. In the not too distant future these will just be vending machines.

Didn't know toothpaste was such a hot item.
