Protest in India is against the election commission for manipulation of the voter roll. I've seen Western media get this wrong as well.

What happened with the roach protests?

The original (fairly small) cockroach protests were about the Supreme Court Chief Justice calling unemployed people 'cockroaches'. He apologised, but it led to the formation of a satirical group called 'Cockroach Janata Party' (Janata = People, and a reference to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party).

The first big protest the CJP was involved in was about the National Testing Agency (which conducts many university entrance tests) f***ing up repeatedly and leaking question papers. Following those protests the union Education Minister resigned.

The current protests are against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar removing millions of voters from the electoral rolls. At first he was doing it 'legally', by arguing that these records had insufficient documentation / spelling mistakes / mismatches (more likely to happen for poorer / rural people, who are also less likely to vote for the BJP) but then it was revealed that he was doing this behind the backs of the two other election commissioners (so against the legally binding majority opinion) and that he had requested a popular civil servant to contest for the BJP (that guy refused).

That’s a really, really loose correlation.

Italy has had problems with oil since russia and ukraine war, it just became worse due to what happened in Iran and our population had enough

Also, the protests about gas prices are mostly done in south Italy (but are not the only ones!), in north Italy the protests are done for more things like low salaries, shit ass public schools etc.

    This post sucks

I think they're referring to the world complying with US sanctions in order to avoid secondary sanctions.

Ah, I understand now. Although some things are not directly related to sanctions, but rather to the imposition of the right wing in Brazil; in Spain due to the housing crisis; Germany with the new law that forces young people to do military service... What I won't deny is that the US wants to make Latin America its spoils. In Europe, I suppose it's the problems of budget cuts themselves because they want to create their own single army for the EU. We live in dark times, but the tweet is a good meme 💅🏽.

Wait, my brain just rewired, and they're actually right, at least about the cuts to create the army because it all started with that idiot Trump, threatening Denmark with taking away Greenland, and the Iran war, and the genocide in Gaza... The meme does have some truth to it, huh. Milei, imposed by the US and Israhell, is cutting the subsidies that should be given to universities... In short, they are not wrong 🤯.

    Thanks for replying.

I don't think that is what they are protesting but it is amusing

a big part of the protest is the spike in cost of living, which has spiked due to fuel prices.

it isn't 100% on Iran, but they had a part to play.

that is what happens when you let a rouge terrorist state start wars with US backing only to lose them.

Israel is doing America’s bidding, not the other way around. They are entirely dependent on US aid for their security and economy, how could they not be a puppet?

Tail wagging the dog situation. Netanyahu has pitched decapitation strikes and and a bombing campaign to every president since Bush 2, and they all turned him down. Trump fired his military advisors from his first term so there was no one left to explain why that was a bad idea.

Idk what to tell you, but the US has been a rogue terrorist state for decades now as well
