Are bots scrapping lemmy the same way they are scrapping reddit? Or is this place safer from scrapping?

I dunno, is there an effort to scrap bots for their code?

It's called ActivityPub. It's basically RSS on steroids. The content here is about as public as it gets.

It wouldn't even be fair to call it "scraping", you just run an instance and the data pours in like a firehose.

It's really important to know this if you're on the Fediverse. If you're here for privacy, big oof.

Anyone can make a server and then they can scrape their server or database without issue.

    So much easier.

Everything is scraped. Lemmy is wide open. Some instances are using Anubis or other methods, but everybody who wants to scrape the fediverse can simply setup their own instance and will get everything delivered without any hassle.

it's even easier to scrape than reddit. in the current world you gotta assume everything publicly accessible is scraped and used for ai training

You don't even need an account to browse Lemmy. This is among the easiest platforms for that.

Yes, it's scraped by bots. The entire public Web is.

Lots of scrap on Lemmy I suppose. Why are you asking though?

Wished to post some of my personal work here, hence the question arised. I was hesitating from posting on reddit cause everything you post there eventually will be fed to AI.
