H...how? For anyone who is in private insurance sure but most people get insurance via work and you cant opt out unless you have equivalent or better insurance elsewhere and its likely more expensive if you have the ability to go elsewhere because workplaces are able to negotiate lower costs due to size.

Im all for boycotting, been doing so myself for american goods for example, but truly how the hell do you think this is a meaningful solution?

In 2021, Trudeau was trying to acquire COVID vaccines into Canada, as Mulroney had sold off all vaccine production capacity in Canada.

Trudeau signed a secret deal to get these vaccines in from Pfizer and Moderna. Why this was a secret was never explained. Since that deal, US FDA approvals are being rubber stamped by Health Canada, and the CDN formulary is paying extra billions for US drugs that have been proven ineffective.

You can point to a lot of things, but a central problem is Mark Carney. If there's no profit (short-term!) to be made, he won't spend a dime on it. Basic research, climate change mitigation, food inspection, and healthcare are all meeting the economist's axe.

Basic research has been in retraction since Trudeau took office. With the collapse of the NIH, Carney responded with flat budgets because Canadian researchers now have nowhere to go to properly fund research.

Canada spends $18B/yr in public funds on drugs. We spend $400B in healthcare, we barely spend $1.3B on biomedical research. Historically, the US took up the slack with $38B in spending but Trump ended that and the entire G8 has done nothing to address this.

Still lots of money for planes and tanks.

Oh for fuck's sake, really? If I don't blindly support the Liberals and everything that Carney does, I'm a Russian bot (although apparently not from the farm that got bombed yesterday, since I'm still here)?

I voted Liberal last election to keep Poilievre out of office, and under this fucking FPTP system, I stand by my vote; but that doesn't mean that Carney is beyond criticism. Take a look at his record, and you'll see someone who puts more emphasis on dollars than on the overall health of the nation. I'm disappointed to say it, because I thought he might be a centrist leader, but he's governing from the right, and it's my job as a dirty hippy to call him out on it.

Facts are facts. The federal Liberals are now very close to where Mulroney's conservatives were, back in the day. This is why we need electoral reform. I am still glad to have him at the helm (vs. Poilievre) when dealing with the fucktards south of the border, but from the second he got his majority, he stopped pretending to give a shit about anything other than economics.

He rolled back environmental protections, he's been playing nice with the traitor of a premier ruining Alberta, and here we are talking about what happened to pharmacare. If you're going to "Yandex" away legitimate criticism, then we end up with the worst government that the parties can get away with.

But hey - keep toeing the party line.

The situation is tough because there ARE a lot of bots online. Not just yan, but pretty much all major powers do it. And corporations. And all flavor of hackers.

I have a few myself. Mostly just as an experiment.

Susan Holt🔴 decided to go against her promises to invest into healthcare by refusing to sign onto pharmacare. New Brunswick deserves better.

The liberals are lying about supporting pharmacare, they would rather people die than stand up for canadians.
