When I was in medical school they taught us that the eye was basically an organ entirely closed off to the rest of the body. And that always confused the heck out of me, like, how? How does that happen? But it turns out my confusion was really just my bullshit meter going off. I'm glad to know about this new lymphatic drainage system, it makes so much more sense.

    What always confused me about that is that I could look at my own eyes over years and see that SOMETHING was acting as a lymphatic drain — so I always took that as a “we don’t care enough to figure it out.”
