is it because its a juvenile term and its time to use the serious terms (harassment? sexual harassment? assault?) is it because most people stop getting bullied in high school and its something that happens almost exclusively to the neurodivergents? is it because were adutls and have other things to worry about? why are people this resistant to this. even in more progressive spaces ive been told to toughen up/move on? whats hapening

I got badly bullied at school for being the weird, poor kid. It got so bad I confided in a teacher and she said she would help. Her "help" consisted of announcing to the class that I had reported them.

I agree. I got bullied hard in school and it completely changed me. I still have a really hard time being comfortable around people and assume all strangers hate me. I wish adults with bullying trauma were taken more seriously and listened to. You never hear their perspectives on TV for example

I got bullied in school, i still have social anxiety about it, i dont meet new people, i dont make new friends, i have a good small friends group of neurodivergents and im fine with that, i just wish i could drop the guard and be myself more. And i want to find a partner but its not going to happen like this so i must do something

you're right. it's got a light connotation, that's why no one takes it seriously

Certain leftists do use the word "bullying" a little too light-heartedly for my taste.

doesnt welfare state as we know it today basically prevent revolution. communism is unpopular in northern europe, japan etc. because nobody cares for strugle and fighting when you have it relatively well. this is why mamdami is not good, we dont need you to be comfortable in your imperialist nations…

You just said this in my thread about welfare. So don't lie and pretend you care about people who are neurodivergents and others who are disabled.

On giving this further thought, my accusation here was premature and I apologize.

Just because someone said something in another post that you don't like does not justify being rude to them in another post. If you do not have a constructive answer to give don't answer at all when someone is asking a serious question.

Yes it does. I have the right to defend myself against those who wish to harm me.

Also, "I think letting people who are disabled die is good" cannot be reduced to just an opinion i don't like.

On your post i responded also and my response was strongly in favor of defending welfare programs. I disagree with what OP wrote there. It is entirely fine to engage in a heated discussion on this topic on that thread because that is what that thread was for. What i am objecting to is dragging a disagreement from one post into another completely unrelated post. This creates a toxic and un-comradely atmosphere.

We should also not jump straight to the most uncharitable possible interpretation of what a comrade says. This is not a space where you need to be that defensive. You are among comrades, not among reactionaries who want to harm you. If you think someone is wrong explain to them how and why their view is wrong and potentially harmful. Do not directly accuse them of deliberately wanting to do harm.

Personal attacks do not help. Education does.

im gonna give you some credit because you joined 3 days ago but when i think of welfare state i think of a social democracy that still exploits the global south for resources. im gonna misinterpret u just as bad you did me. do disabled people in africa and western asia deserve to die? because they do, where do you think the funding for the welfare states come from if not from those nations? people in these nations have no energy to care for the disabled after being exploited for resources and endless western backed coups. did the mamdani thing set you off ? genuinely because youre my comrade and i want to understand

I am aware that imperialism funds those programs. Imperialism also funds the high salary of doctors, lawyers, or software engineers etc, and it basically assists everyone in all imperial nations in this way. Of course, I am against exploitation of the Global South. The point however is to eliminate this exploitation and keeping these programs that assists those that are disabled and unemployed.

I am on welfare and disabled. Every day i fear that the fascists will kick down my door and kill me. Where i live, the fascists are setting up people like me as a scapegoat and i just cant allow that to happen..

What's the point of your comment?

And I defend my rights outside lemmygrad/the internet as well. You claim that this is my "method of self defense and resistance against the fascists" as if it is the only I use.

what??? a welfare state does NOT refer to welfare programs !!! a welfare state in the capitalist world (the context of your post) is often a social democracy which objectivly uses the resources from imperialism just with a different distribution !!! and now you came in my vent post about ableism to tell me that i misunderstood things and im ableist when youre the one that did !!

I apologize if you are not against welfare programs, but when people talk about the "welfare state" they are indeed talking about those programs.

An example, when reactionaries complain about the "welfare state" they are complaining about social assistance given to the poor and to those disabled and unemployed.
