Was shopping for glue, 2 weeks ago. So, firmly September. Already isles of xmas tat. FFS. Let us just have one commercial, face stuffing, and totes unconnected to ANY actual holiday rubbed into our noses at a time. I'm tired of being treated like a bad puppy for not over consuming. I really enjoy holy days. I'm not even just celebrating my own holy days. I just really enjoy celebrations and how they bring ppl together. But having it SHOVED in my ears, eyes, and pocketbook is obscene. The AI neutered slop playing in stores is so objectionable I only go when forced to. Also, a reminder that if you find something on Cramazon, it's most likely on a legit stores site for a better price. Spend less, encourage legit vending!

When he is off to work but I am probably sotting there blood on my titties.
I like to listen to Christmas music in season. I don't start until after Thanksgiving is over, and I end on midnight of Christmas day.
I listen pretty much all day everywhere. At home, at work, in the car.
People have complained.
I explain that I spend all year wanting to murder everyone around me, and listening to Christmas music reminds me of a time when I didn't believe everyone deserved to be murdered. It's an annual mood reset that takes me back to a child-like baseline of kumbaya bullshit where everyone can be kind and love each other.
It doesn't always work. There have been years when the ignorance and cruelty interfere with the reset and I stop the music and embrace the hate.
Those are not good years.
Listening to a month of Christmas music seems a small price to pay.
I'm a school bus driver and a couple of years ago the director of transportation banned Christmas decorations on the buses. This of course caused an enormous shitstorm, and the director defended herself by saying that some parents had complained about Christianity being pushed on their kids by the buses. This sounded like an utterly ludicrous claim, but it turned out that the culprit was me, because I had tried to get the kids on my bus to sing "Little Drummer Boy". Ironically, I'm an atheist but I just like that fucking song.
I have been listening to the occasional Xmas song since the summer. My new favorite is Fairytale of New York
Hmm... Do you think adding tiddies to a Charlie Kirk statue might be taking things a bit too far?
Also:
- Pop Country
- Drake
- Taylor swift
- Love island
- Housewives of *some bullshit
- Any advertisement
- “I asked Chat GPT”
The list goes on.
When people respond to a comment with a screenshot of ChatGPT or similar it makes me want to terminate the internet. In reality I try to block them, but sometimes it short circuits my brain and I forget.
Housewives of Some Bullshit sounds MUCH better than the actual shows tbh 😁
I some times give a pass to Trans Siberian orchestra. But only the not uber christmas songs
Actually. Yeah that's pretty dope. That Rock Opera album, I don't know if it has capital-C Christmas music but it really has the sound.
They would never play that in a department store
Xmas music is manipulative. I don't like to be manipulated into hyper capitalism and religious bigotry.
Oooh, I was going to let this this conversation slide but you've actually just nailed it right it the heart of the issue.
That's EXACTLY what it is! FUCK! I HATE music that tells me what to feel and I HATE being told to buy shit. I want to have holidays, I really do. I love my family and I love not being at work. It's just kind of hard to enjoy it knowing it's all at the cost of our health and prosperity.
Don't even get me started on the mathematical theory of manipulative music. There's a whole equation for how many times you can repeat the hook of a song to make sure it makes the top 40 charts in the US

RRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
There was this song porno star by joe budden. I used to drive around on Sundays blaring it with the top down around all the churches. Man, I miss CDs.
And it’s starting earlier and earlier. Used to be you start hearing it on the radio after Thanksgiving, now I expect to hear it after Halloween.
Can you do this fountain but with marshmallow fluff infused chocolate sauce?
What is the name of this piece?
I reverse image searched it. It's just called "Blood Fountain" by Frank Ippolito and Nick Bonamy
How straightforward
And where can I buy one?
If only I knew. It seems to be more of a "entreat the blood god" thing. I imagine it would eventual just sort of manifest in your walls and then you'd dig it out
See, I tried that and now I pee blood, but still have no statue.
Yeah, but... the Temptations Christmas album is literally elite
Might take a bit more than some jaunty yule tunes to shift that statue's mood from choleric to sanguine
They usually don't play Christmas music in the stores until after halloween
You will never get me to not recommend Sufjan Stevens' "Songs for Christmas"
