3D modeling? That's kind of a giant undersell. I've used blender for years, and 3D modeling, while very capable, is barely scratching the surface of its capabilities.
I, for one, am looking forward to Blender kn Android.

'3D modeling app' is kind of underselling it.

3D animation, 2D animation, physics simulation, video editing suite, etc, etc, etc...

  • That sounds painful

Didn't realize until now that we had Blender on Symbian OS and still not on Android.

If they're smart, they'll ask to put Tom Murphy's new Imposter Card system in, which basically allows any hardware to render highly complex scenes.

I'd say it's probably batter than Unreal Engines nanite system, which has never been performant.

I didn't know what imposter cards were so I looked it up. For those who don't know, its an add-on that converts complex meshed into a shader that renders on top of a single face. Pretty cool technology. I wonder how it compares in performance. Do pure shader based approaches avoid the rendering cost of even a low LOD mesh?
