Wild to think I used to raw dog the internet for a long while, now I’m always at least behind a VPN and encrypted DNS which is still bare minimum nowadays

Back in (estimating) 1997, I was playing Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 via the then-relevant MSN Online and someone posted a link in the public chat; I don't remember what the link offered, but it was enticing enough that my ten-year-old self clicked it.
They said "someone with the IP [whatever IP I had then] clicked this!" In response I unplugged both my modem and computer so they couldn't hack me.
It's embarrassing to remember now, but I knew so little at the time that it seemed to make sense in the moment.
Good luck fool, I'm behind 7 proxies
Big words for someone at 192.168.1.6!
Nah ur address is already clear, it's 127.0.0.1
You fucked up kid. As I type this I have my modded PS2 running a track IP script on your post. Once I have triangulated your position in the world, my PS3 will release to your router my very own Pandora box virus. You won't notice it at first, but soon your lame PC will begin to work against you in ways you can't even imagine. First your graphics card will start to emit the flu virus, your ram will be uploaded online so everyone will be able to use it, your motherboard will slowly secrete acidic resin which will fry the electronics. The processor will be fine, just to give you hope.
You will be left with a husk of a machine, all because you decided to critique console players ability... was it worth it?
Not even your mummy can help you now fuck boy
Something that any script kiddie can do within 30 seconds? What’s to worry about?
nothing, but you're a kid and don't know that.
Hwy look! Another person making unaided ignorant assumptions about complete strangers online. How original!
Don't bully people, it's not hard
if you can't take the heat, gtfo of the kitchen.
the world is not padded for your enjoyment and is a harsh existence that is doing everything it can to kill you.
the opinions and actions of others on a network that spans the globe is no exception.
