It's not like people actually cared about the victims of previous disasters. Covid, ebola and all the other things (wars also).

In my mind I always see a post about Warhammer40k where they said the emperor kills 1000 people a day just to stay alive - and how thankful we would be if only 1000 people would be killed for the rich and not more.
*(My lore is not up to date so correct me with the real imaginary numbers pls)

    That's 365000, so nearly half a million but lower than what I'd imagine nearly 500k to be. Can't believe that universe is 'better'

    My understanding is a lot of the rich assholes with the power to do something about this view these deaths as desirable.
