Once you read it you realize it’s influenced SO MUCH and it would be pretty epic now that’s e have the tech to do something at that scale

I feel like the Cosmere is pretty well structured for a series. Each season could be a different world, eventually tying things together.

From what I've heard, something is in the works. Hopefully optimistic it turns out well.

Cryptonomicon, by Neal Stevenson. But keep it the modern stuff as part of the ninties at the Dawn of the Information Age.

There’s a pulp sci-fi series that I’ve been reading, “Backyard Starship”. Basically good-guy Space Sherrif takes on big and small problems in known space with a big variety of aliens. Fun stories and plenty of action. IMO it definitely needs an anime-style version.

The Game is Life series by Terry Schott.

The writing style can put people off but the concept itself and the world building done in the first couple books are just so damn interesting I would love to see a visual interpretation of it.

Ted Chiang - The Stories of Your Life and Exhalation (minus Story of Your Life, since Denis Villeneuve knocked that out of the park, IMO). The other short stories in those collections are great and could make a great mini series.

The Bobiverse books by Dennis E. Taylor, and The Shadow of the Leviathan series by Robert Jackson Bennett. These are two series I would love to see rendered as animated or live action stories.

most dont even stay true to the source material, unless the original writer is on board, even then they can be influenced by executives, like with sandman. with the obvious thing happened with lucifer and death.(not true to the source, only the words were)

on one hand, series like nutrek just straight up plagiarizes fan novels without giving credit.

I'm still disappointed they botched the Wheel of Time. Like, right from the very beginning, that started making really questionable choices. I wish they'd do it animated because one, that'd make the magic way cheaper, and two, it'd make it feasible to grapple with the sheer size of the series.

I will always say that HHGttG needs a well done remake as a TV series’s that leaves out nothing.

John Scalzi's Old Man's War book series. Apparently it's been optioned for 15+ years now, but nobody's actually gotten around to making the damned thing yet.

Anyways, almost any book could be made into a fun series, because most books are well-written.

I wish they could finish the Expanse. That was a pretty good adaptation as far as they got, and the books really tie everything very nicely together toward the end (as well as get kind of crazy)

The Cradle series by Will Wight would be pretty cool. It's 12 books long but tightly paced and doesn't mire itself in a bunch of tiny details like The Wheel of Time would. It's set in an ancient Chinese fantasy world that's part of a greater struggle in the multiverse and reads like a shonen. Its protagonist, Wei Shi Lindon starts off as a pariah with no powers before being rescued by a demigod who gives him a way to alter the fate of him and his home from an apocalyptic ending.

A 2 hour long animatic was released a few months ago and covers the first 2 books fairly well. A fully animated trailer was also released showing the promise of how well it would look if it took off.
