Coming from reddit, it's interesting to see a world news forum that isn't entirely and totally captured by Israeli Hasbara mods. I got banned from reddit's /worldnews for pointing out that "invade Iran" vs "let Iran have nukes" is an asinine false dichotomy. (And I didn't even use the word "asinine.")

I hate to say I told you so, but I earlier this week I said the ICC a neocolonial imperialist institution employs selective justice. Turns out the .today and .worlders were wrong again.

Remember when France did this on Obama's orders in 2013? Bolivia Presidential plane forced to land after false rumors of Snowden onboard.

As expected, he knew this very well

But what about the rules based international order?

I think any country that allows things like this should get ignored by the ICC for any criminals that they want to have arrested. France looking for a criminal that stole stuff from the Louvre or something? Nah, ask someone else.

Because US have in law that they can use military force, if them or their allies are put before the ICC.

I know I've been posting this a lot but not only is the US not a member of the ICC, but the president is permitted to "all means necessary and appropriate" to free any covered US person or covered allied person if they are arrested. Israel is one of the countries explicitly listed as covered, and the definition of covered includes government officials.

France has said they consider heads of states that are not signatories to the treaty to have diplomatic immunity, despite the ICC having jurisdiction over Palestine (who is a signatory).

I haven't heard excuses from the other countries 🕵️‍♀️
