Iโ€™m about to head out for some Thai food, in the vague hope that I can nuke my sinuses with chilli and holy basil

Thank you everyone for the shoe advice! I ended up getting the Steel Blue Hobarts. I like that style over laced, and it has such a nice dusky pink inside.

Steel Blue are the recommend brand I haven't tried.

Blundstones were the worst. I gave them to a friend (barely worn) with a set of used tradie clothes so she could pretend to have a guy around her place. She works from home and receives clients, some have been sketchy. Idle story but that's the only good I got from those shit boots.

Just picked up my first pair of steel toe boots, courtesy of the The Man.

Nice a simple black boot. Tested them out by having partner stand on the toes while I was wearing them and I felt nothing lol.

All set for Monday morning โœจ

  • If you can, thin socks and either really thick or thin socks over them. Heel rub happens when the sock sticks to your heel (sweat) and also to the inside of the heel counter on the shoe. Two layers this does not happen as the layers slide past each other. I always liked Blundies when they were made in Taswegia, but they've fallen off the radar now.

It's hard lol because I have a bunion on both feet (so they're wider at the toe joints than at the heel), so I'm usually a 9 or a 9 1/2, but sometimes 10, sometimes 8 1/2 lol. I generally have to try on the shoes before I know

It's all good, I got a pair paid for by my job provider :3 nothing out of pocket here bby lol

Accumulated stash of chicken bones is in the crockpot with onion, carrots, garlic & lemon, turning into chicken stock for chicken soup. Will take some hours, so dins tonight will probably be a freezer rummage.

bad customer service pisses me off sfh. It's becoming a rage trigger for me. I'm weird, off putting and suck at humans and yet I can do this quite easily. You can't? Have you tried not being a lazy shit? seriously it's not fucking hard.

    • Listen to customer
    • Identify issue
    • If issue on customer end, politely point them to how to resolve themselves
    • If issue on your end apologise and resolve or flag for resolution

And no "I understand how frustrating that must be" is not an apology. It's not even active listening in a CS scenario. it's passive aggression

    SCENARIO:
"Hey, you delivered this parcel to the completely wrong address. The connote says something completely different to the order wtf? I mean I went over and grabbed it and have it here, but WTF??"

Correct answer: [confirm address with customer] Please let me apologise - that should not have happened. I can see the order you placed had the address you stated, can you confirm where the parcel ended up? Ok yeah that's definitely the wrong address. I'm just gonna flag this with the courier and try and work out what happened. It's probably going to take a while to get an answer from them, is it ok if I email you when they respond? [AND THEN YOU FKKING FOLLOW THROUGH AND TAKE MEASURES TO PREVENT REOCCURANCE]

WRONG answer: I can understand how frustrating that must be. I will flag that with our courier. [and then nothing]

CAN YA GUESS WHICH ONE OF THESE IS GONNA ESCALATE? CAN YA???

Yeah, I'm trialing new BJJ gyms. One place I emailed with very clear questions asked me to call for a chat. I replied that I didn't realise my email was confusing and requiring a chat. I've signed up for a trial somewhere else but now they're emailing me the details trying to salvage the sale. Sorry lads, you marketed too hard when you should've customer service'd more.

demanding calls is an insane tactic to take with anyone younger than a boomer. And it instantly hinks on me when you're chasing contracts and such because I'm "What don't' you want in writing?"

If you work at one of those places where IT keeps sending out simulated phishing attacks then you can buy some time on anything you don't want to do by just reporting it as attempted phishing. You can't get blamed for being too cautious

I love when a truck driver gets thrown off by a woman forkie. Driver rocked up, rang the doorbell, I wandered out and he just cracked up. Apparently he was expecting a bloke and had a joke all lined up ready, but didn't want to tell it to me in case I slapped him. Apparently it was just to say "good morning short & curly!"
