Pro tip: make child pee before clothing at lower temps.

-20 is where I die.
You don’t need panties below -20 degrees
Scarves only appear at -20? Finns are built different.
We do usually put a thin balaclava for kids already at much lower temps. It covers the neck and also prevents snow from going down clothes a little.
also wearing nothing but a tank top and shorts at 20°c, it takes at least 25° for me to reach that point.
Oh my God so many layers.
you don't need as many layers but really your clothing should account for situations where you may be stranded
-14c in a hoodie is fine up until you're 10-16 minutes outside and your body heat is gone (numbers not exactly accurate but hopefully you get an idea of what I mean)
This is probably from a preschool, though, and a lot of the kids will spend more than an hour at a time outside, so those layers are necessary.
The idea that your body heat can be gone in 15 minutes is in and of itself insane to me coming from a hot desert region, but I guess at some point body heat generation just can't keep up.
The winter clothing is essentially designed to trap existing and newly generated heat but if you are wearing a hoodie you're just cooling down slowly
You die if you don't eat in 30 days they say, 3 days without water, or 3 hours laying in the cold.
There is nothing to do when it's too hot though, it's so insanely brutal 🥵, when it's cold just dress up or stay inside :-)
