Fun fact, Dryden from AAF is a documented racist and bigot. He was called out in the NME (or maybe MM, I forget) at the height of their fame by a journalist who followed them on tour and saw him frequently using racial slurs to refer to members of the road crew. Then when social media started being a thing, he was on there with (subsequently deleted) N-words and homophobia.

I don't even know if we have an "Oldies" station left, but I heard a Linkin Park song from 2003 on the biggest Classic Rock station in the area last week, and I'm still trying to process that.

Also, obligatory "there was only 13 years between the original and the Alien Ant Farm cover, but 25 years since the cover"

That's not surprising at all. Any media older than 20 years is old.

In fact, watching Star Trek TNG is the equivalent of watching black and white movies.

Last week a teenage store clerk asked if I needed my purchases carried to my car.

I didn't, because the question caused me to crumble to dusk.

Meanwhile here I am in my 40s sometimes getting carded when buying booze and I look em straight in the eyes and point to my grey beard, then ask if they wanna see my thinning hair 👴

I was so happy when I stopped getting carded in my late twenties. I didn't need to carry my wallet around with me anymore just to show ID when I pick up booze. made it that much easier to go run errands, as I only needed my phone in my pocket

Wait you don't get a bit happy they felt to card you? I need to go to newer stores for that excitement.

Actually recall being over a decade younger and being carded and amused, doesn't happen overly often this side of 40 let alone back when I was younger. Apparently I looked a tad younger from comments (at parties unless they were just hitting on me, I dunno now) but rarely card for decades now. Always have it ready just to make things smoother mind you, don't want to hold up the line and all

Fuck, I didn't read that slow enough at first and was like, "well I mean, Smooth Criminal is pretty old so- wait the Alien Ant Farm version????? Fuuuuu-" I think that made it worse.

A few years ago my Bluetooth thingy died and I had to listen to the radio so I turned on the oldies station trying to catch some beach boys or something and they were playing Guns N Roses. Marjor psychic damage. Then they got the crit multiplier cause when I switched to classic rock they were playing the Sex Pistols

It's been years ago now, but I knew I was old when we were further away from Lagwagon's cover of Brown Eyed Girl than they were from the original.

For me it was when they played “Sell Out” in the grocery store.

If i remember correctly they ended up hating it because people didn't ask for their songs when they were playing live just the Smooth Criminal.

Better than Greta Van Fleet, who denounced that they sounded like Zeppelin. Dude, take the compliment and run with it.

You mean the band that 100% sounds like Led Zeppelin (on purpose) is offended that someone thinks they sound like Led Zeppelin?

Also, they got offended by that?
