Following their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program, South Park is making a big change. Creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone announce:

“Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA. We especially want to thank our parent company Paramount -- a Skydance Capitulation.”

The 29th Season of the award-winning series will premiere Wednesday, September 16th, at 10pm ET/PT on Comedy Central.

New episodes will be available to stream on Paramount+ around the world, with next-day availability in the U.S., Canada and Australia.

Remember the classic South America episode that was about how much the creators hate everything south of the US and also the environment? pog-fish

it was inspired by Trey Parker's intense distaste towards rainforests and Costa Rica. Parker explains on the DVD commentary that, at the suggestion of Flea, Parker and his girlfriend went to Costa Rica and hated the country, and that everything Cartman says about the rainforests and Costa Rica during the episode is how he (Parker) personally feels.[1]

The episode is also filled with famous environmentalist clichés, such as, "We must take only photos and leave only footprints", "It's more afraid of us than we are of it", and "We have to respect mother nature and she will respect us."

Cartman really is Republican Brian Griffin.

Really cool one of the most beloved scumbags in Hollywood is a consoomer who supports pollution because “nature le cringe!”

    Hedonists are scum.

They spent fucking years mocking climate change and now they're BOLD and BRAVE for taking on DRUMPF. If it wasn't so cringe to be maga the creators would be on board with everything else.

It's South Park, there is no logic. You could probably find a line to irony-pilled shit getting trump elected to these assholes. (not that they started it, but they would be part of that pathway for sure)
