I'm in the same boat. Not sure I'm gonna have the funds to buy my own this year. Previous years the best price I found was that it was more cost effective to get a Costco membership and get my shots there. Still expensive but I saved a hefty chunk of change. Especially since the Costco members' price stayed the same while the retail prices of the shots went up last year.

look at it like this:
the reason the bean counters for insurance companies cover vaccines is because it makes fiscal sense. the guaranteed cost of the preventative is always so much cheaper than even the lower likelihood cost of more severe infection. so from a purely fiscal standpoint, not getting the vaccine is the fiscally riskier option.
when you factor in the individual personal experience of being sicker, possible death, long term complications of a more severe infection... it raises the risk of not paying for the vaccine even higher.
