I saw a trailer for Annihilation in the theater and was so excited because I thought it was the Ian McDonald Chaga story (1995) So disappointed it was not, more horror less sci fi, action, drama. Well plenty of action, I was just disappointed because the look of it and trailer really truly did look like the Chaga. The storyline so derivative and ten years younger.

Don't want random people coming up to you because you're a famous movie person? Don't be a famous movie person.

Want to be shitty to the people who helped get you to where you are by watching your stuff? You deserve nothing.

I hope this is a jokeπŸ˜…. I came to respond the exact opposite, because this is actually a good etiquette Beetlemooses came to present: anyone can be famous these days, it only takes one viral tiktok. But if they didn't setup a meet-and-greet booth, leave them to their businesses.
I came here to congratulate both Beetlemooses & @the_picard_maneuver@lemmy.world for demonstrating a very important etiquette rule folks should be aware, but let the infamy override the ethos: Just like you may not like to be bothered or interrupted while carrying your business, please leave them to theirs until they allow you the time and place to do so.
I know I didn't choose to be famous irl, so please respect my boundaries in public pleaseπŸ™. When you do come to my art booth, I will welcome your envy, and share our struggles of the art worldπŸ₯².

Idk who you are but πŸ‘

Rich celebrities get what they get, and will receive no sympathy from me.

That was kind of my point, you aren't the sort of person that is rich and famous, acting like you're too good to listen to someone.

Oh, you want humility. I see. Mmmhmmm.
I still feel, that even if folks choose to be famous, and managed to secure wealth, they still deserve decency as a human. But I do comprehend infamy can easily flip. It is after all, a parasocial relationship. Please treat them with respect, even if you believe they don't deserve to be haughty.
    Something like:

And here is my tip to the beggar in the street seeking shelter from the radiance of these entitled assholes.

Loudly so the restaurant can hear you, and get a solidarity chuckle from servers. I sure would if I was dealing with both of you.

If you respect their work, shouldn't you respect them? You're saying: "Want to be shitty to the people who helped get you to where you are by watching your stuff?" How about being shitty to the person making your entertainment? You're being an incredibly entitled asshole.
