There's a reason why in Argentina we don't eat pink-"cooked" meat, and is called STEC (Shiga Toxin producing E. coli) cuz the argentinian strains are the deadliest in the world (another coronación de gloria, papá)

incredible stuff. right on the heels of announcing that massive import of beef to lower beef prices too.
from a political constituency perspective within the agricultural producer bloc, there are a lot of not-huge (relatively speaking) beef cattle ranchers. chicken and pork are far more concentrated with vertical integration where the person with all those animals is under contract with some giant multinational and no decision making ability about when or where to sell.
most every state has a cattleman's association of fairly chuddy guys in their 50s & 60s + their families + their farm credit/farm bureau services providers, auction owners, etc and holy crap were they popping off about the huge foreign purchase proposal ("betrayal!" came up a lot) to push down prices that way... and for the most burgerlander of agricultural products.
and then immediately this recall--which because the US got rid of "COOL" (Country Of Origin Labeling) exemptions for raw agricultural products intended for processing in the US (like at a butcher shop or a giant packing plant lol)--absolutely scares away buyers (including larger institutions) from buying any beef for a little while and substituting with some other protein.
it's like they are trying to find every tranche of the the maga coalition and dropping a hot, wet turd in their lap.
One week ago.
This is such a weird story. This recall was announced weeks before Trump announced the tariff thing but is only now being reported on.
in argentina under the milei regime, there are no cows so ranchers force people to eat the grass
Wtf is going on is this a money laundering scheme or something
Are those living flash eating maggots still a thing over Texas? Lol, now I pity the cute dillos who may get barbecued: between steroids, explosive diarrhea, literal mutilation, and leprosy what's the most fitting dish for Republicans?
Damn that was fast, America straight up speedrunning foodborne illness right now
