See, Malayo-Polynesians expanded across the Pacific, made contact with Amerindians in Colombia, and apparently traded their fighter jet technology for kūmara (sweet potato, a New World crop that the Polynesians had before the Columbian exchange too). Then those Amerindians time-traveled 1000 years into their past to give the jet plans to their ancestors who, through a hilarious error in metric-ancient unit conversion, made tiny gold models of them instead.
