Dolly is one of the few people you can say this about in her eulogy and it wouldn't even be disrespectful.

Dolly was a real one, as someone who doesn't usually care about celebrity deaths, or country music, this made me sad, she will be missed.

Here's a little story: In my garage growing up we had a metal can (idk if it was like a bedroom trash can or what) that had Dolly on it. I'm guessing it caused me to have a dream that I thought was real until I was about 10 years old. I had a memory of pulling up to Dolly's house (which in my false memory was like a 3-bedroom in southern California a few blocks from my house) with my Mom and her and my mom had a conversation sitting in Dolly's living room as I played on the floor with toys. I must've been about 10 before it clicked into my head that there was no way my mom was buddies with Dolly Parton and that she lived just around the way lol. But I grew up thinking she was a family friend. In a way, she was.

My father was a stagehand and loved when Dolly had a show in town. She loved tipping and gave my dad like 50 the first time she was there (a lot for a stagehand that doesn't get tipped)

So he took mother out for a fancy dinner and a babysitter for us.

Next time she comes in, he thanks her, telling her it let him get a babysitter for the twins and a nice dinner for his wife.

She tipped him three times as much every time after that!

I saw her in LAX in I think 1997, my God she was gorgeous and tiny. She only flew commercial airlines even though she could afford to buy a fleet of jets.

She had a glow or a presence like no one I have seen or met since.

She once said that her favourite thing to do with her husband was to take off in a little trailer they had and go find some place in some corner of Tennessee to camp out in for a weekend.

She held onto her roots and love of the simple things in life! You have to respect that considering she was worth upwards of 650 million.

And she did a ton of charity work to boot. We lost a good one, such a shame.

80 years and died beloved. That's pretty good.

She was a saint. And not in a religious way, but in the way that she was for everyone, and truly cared about us all. Rest in peace with your dear Carl, your memory will always be a blessing.

Somehow, the world managed to suck more today than yesterday.

She was a ray of sunshine. I remember seeing one reel on Instagram (before moving on from it) earlier this year and she joked about not being dead (yet) then. It seemed like she will always be around and spread joy. Ehh.. R.I.P.

You misspelled legend and added some unnecessary qualifiers. The legendary Dolly Parton will be missed so much. Fucking tragic.

I swear I saw her talking on the news just days ago. Certainly less than a week.
