Its honestly disgusting how we treat indirect murder through layers of corporate greed differently than straight up shooting/stabbing someone.

Hanging is too quick for Elon, hypothetically speaking.
Is there a pain monster we can utilize, like in Futurama?
I would go significantly out of my way to watch Musk hanged for murder.
too light of a punishment if you ask me
nazis like him deserve far worse
I vaguely remember reading about a nazi who was sentenced to death after nuremburg. He requested to be killed by firing squad, but they told him no. Firing squads are for soldiers. Hanging is for criminals, so he will hang.
His assets need to be liquidated first and distributed to everyone, he should be made to watch himself lose everything.
I wouldn't. His death doesn't deserve the attention.
I wanna spit on his corpse like people did to his fascist ancestors
Is this the guy who was just defending Derek fucking chauvin? What are we even doing?
yeah, but that's different, because those people were POOR. The poor are unimportant.
Yes, we don't hang rich and important people, they should not mix with common rabble. That's why we have guillotines! 😈
Ironically this comment is entirely against the concept of the guillotines which were invented to ensure equality in executions. Whether noble or common we all got the quickest death, beheading. No more of the terrible, cheaply made hanging stands which wouldn't break the neck thus slowly strangling the punished.
Much less wood needed for a guillotine as you don't need a platform for the drop. Less metal working, as nails are harder to make than a single large metal blade. Less workers as it can be assembled by one guy. Much less chance of it failing too as once built human error has little chance to cause problems. Pull the lever boy (Gronk). Previously, the hangman could fuck up on the knot which had to be custom to each that died. Weight, height, neck strength, length of the rope, all mattered. Easy to fuck up.
Equality In death.
Edit: assembled, not built. The blade was made by an expert the rest could be made by anyone with experiance working with wood.
Nails are stupidly easy to make compared to a large sheet of metal. I wouldn't call most guillotine head separators, "blades." The sharpness doesn't matter, as long as the thing weighs enough, it will slice through. The diagonal matters more than the sharpness. Heating up that much metal and laminating/ heat welding it into a solid piece takes a fuckton of work, and half a fuckton of coal.
I can make you a nail in 4 hits of a hammer, and I'm not a good smith. I know masters that can do it in 3 hits.
Ah shoot, thanks for the correction. I was told by a history major a while back that casting the blade would be cheaper and easier than the nails needed for a hanging platform so forgive my lack of knowledge. Your explination makes sense apologies for the likely misinfo
Last thing, as for sharpness, they were supposed to be sharpened and maintained sharp by the excecutioner. I assume that this wasn't always the case but it was the standard. Executioners even usually owned multiple guillotines so that they could cycle through them when they wore down, repairing and maintaining the ones not in use
More importantly, they were mostly brown. We all know how Apartheid Musk feels about those people.
He should he hanged 600,000 times.
Like one of those displays at Ikea where they stress test one of their chairs being sat in. Just set him back up and do it again.
Even the tech bros know what we SHOULD do to them. I think they are just as amazed as all of us that they can get away with whatever they want.
as has been the case throughout history
It's this sort of statement that really pisses me off. Because proving it wrong* takes much more time than it takes to casually throw it down & take root in mindless minds.
* first and foremost because it's way too broad
For reference, this is typically called Brandolini's law

I find that dumping a false factoid that is not irrefutable without considerable work is a common tool of capitalists/fascists, just like offloading labor onto masses of workers while taking credit for said work is their way of alienating entire societies
In both cases they're having other people do the work. Fascists are lazy and irresponsible
It is a key component of the gish gallop, which we've seen in full force from this administration. It has parallels to a packet multiplier DDOS attack in networking, where the attacker spends comparatively little bandwidth but causes the target to have to deal with much larger amounts of traffic.

Typically predated by numerous pre-internet proverbs. For reference:
Falsehood flies, and the Truth comes limping after it
and many variations
Hanging wasn't the preferred method of capital punishment and it certainly wasn't confined to murders nor was it only used when there was 100% certainty. There's a whole religion built around protesting Rome's capital punishment.
I would say the most common hangings were the lynching of black people in the US. But even that saw competitive use of guns and automobile or horse drags. Nor was guilt firmly established prior to the given cases.
The issue with addressing it is there's too large of a surface area that can be misdirected to some other part of it.
I mean since they just casually throw it around, you don't need to disprove it. Just call it a flat out lie and Elon an ignorant bullshitter with no knowledge of world history.
Even better ask Grok to criticize it with a simple but convincing language, it will probably do a unreasonably good job of it despite its biased training.

But certain people just lap this sort of shit up without thinking. It's got that tasty "way back when everything was better" ingredient.

This might be the best way to answer that - if I ever used Xhitter.
I'll fight felon musk both arms handcuffed behind my back for humanity if it's televized
Never forget: Elon Musk is a mentally teenage incel troll from the time the internet was most fertile to them.
He's very very very rich now but his character has not changed.
Sure, he has the power to go with it now and seems hell-bent on using it, which makes him much more dangerous than any mere troll.
We really need to take people like him at their word when they talk about hanging people, but otoh we must remember that they're nothing but whiny trolls and bullies who accidentally grew into adults.
See the thing is Trump's administration is pushing a lot of things through courts that would make it 100 reasonable to freeze all of his assets and revoke citizenship from him and every child of his who opposes the governments view. The whole national security risk thing that has been argued makes a whole lot more sense when it comes to Musk than it does the person mowing people's yards or such.
Did you spend money to influence elections: yes. You are a potential threat to the Republic. Was that amount reasonable? Well it was illegal to spend more than $10,000 for 234 years out of our 250 years of existence. His "donations" aren't that, twice that, four times that, or even ten times that. They are now a thousand times that. That screams threat to our nation and corruption.
