I have atv4k and within the last couple of weeks everything on the Apple TV app looks muddy and horrible. Every other app (Disney, Max, Netflix, Prime, paramount, and peacock) looks great. It’s not my internet and I’ve reset the unit. Anyone else having this problem or have a fix?

I just watched episode 3 of monarch and it was crispy, so not a universal problem.

Which Apple TV 4k 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen?

Yes but the cable is fine. Every other app looks good

This is hard to gauge. I'm not having any issues and viewing experiences are very subjective. I don't use Dolby Vision/HDR and that's a personal preference of mine. I believe the Apple TV app is updated with tvOS and not like other apps where they can be updated routinely... someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Did this start "out of the blue" or with a certain update?

It was pretty close to the 17.1 update

I notice Seinfeld on Netflix looks weird for closes ups and action but when it goes wide angle for buildings it’s crisp 4k looking

My LG tv did a couple updates so I’m thinking it’s going to be the tv settings I haven’t had time to mess with yet

Weird. Everything but Netflix looks great for me.

I’ve been experiencing a similar issue while streaming with the AppleTV app on my AppleTV. Video has intermittently been obviously compressed / pixelated. Not a hardware nor network problem. Only started a few days ago.

Yes. Sometimes it’s fixed but mostly it’s like you said. Compressed/ pixelated.
